What do we need from you?
In order to progress the potential claim to Insurers, please ensure that you provide the following information to us:
- Do not disclose involvement of insurers
- Do not admit liability
- Any correspondence to/from the patient must be submitted to insurers for review
Ensure that you abide with the following at all times:
- Keep a copy of patient notes for a minimum of 10 years
- Take pre/post-operative photographs of the patient
- Consent forms must be signed and dated
Our Medical Malpractice policy provides indemnity on a ‘claims made basis’ which means that you are indemnified for claims first made against you during the current period of insurance arising out of Wrongful Acts committed. Coverage may be limited to Wrongful Acts committed since a specified date (referred to as the ‘retroactive date’) which is normally the date you first buy Medical Malpractice insurance.
Claims notification conditions require your first awareness of any claim or complaint against you to be reported to insurers within a specified time. Failure to do so may prejudice cover.
